About Gifts That Land

Gifts That Land is for the person you never know what to buy. The one who already has a kitchen, a desk, and an opinion. Not another candle. Not socks. Something that actually lands.

It is not a store. We do not keep a warehouse of inflatable dinosaurs. Each page is a write-up with a link out to a manufacturer or retailer. If you buy something, you buy it from them.

Why it exists

Hard-to-gift people are not ungrateful. They are specific. The catalog is weird on purpose: desk toys, kitchen gadgets, pet perches, costumes, and other objects that make a shopping cart feel like a dare. The blurbs are original. The products are real, currently sold things. The tone is PG-13: jokes, not cruelty, and nothing aimed at protected groups.

Affiliate disclosure

We may earn from qualifying purchases. Buy buttons and outbound product links can be affiliate links. That does not change the price you pay. We are not the manufacturer, and we do not control stock, shipping, or whether a singing cactus still has volume control when it arrives.

Amazon Associates: no tag yet, so outbound Amazon URLs are clean (no tag=). Product front matter includes an associate_tag field so a tag can be added later without rewriting the pages. The disclosure stays either way.

Images

When we have a freely licensed product photo (for example Wikimedia Commons), we use it and credit the photographer. Some branded toys use a typographic card instead of a listing image. Unsplash photos are used only as generic stand-ins (a waffle, a banana, a cat), not as stolen retail shots.
